Canada is always a popular choice when it comes to immigration interests. And why not? Apart from being a beautiful place to settle in, the country boasts of its growing economy over the past years. The world-class education system, along with its rapid growth in the tech industry, attracts people from all over the world to be a part of this progressive country. The Canadian Immigration Process is specifically for the students and job-seekers who wish to permanently fly to their dream destination.

Here, we will discuss the Express Entry system of the immigration process and the latest Express Entry Updates.

What is the Express Entry?

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has facilitated the immigration process of skilled workers to gain permanent residency in Canada. There are specific steps that one has to follow to complete the process. Express Entry is an online portal to manage the immigration system in three programs:

1.Federal Skilled Worker Program

2.Federal Skilled Trades Program

3.Canadian Experience Class

Express Entry ranks the candidates based on age, education, working experience, and language skills. This Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) calculates a score for the candidates. It selects the best candidate for permanent residency in Canada.

Express Entry Updates February 2020

We have got the latest Express Entry Updates February 2020 for you and this write up sheds light on the facts and figures of the recent draw.

The 2nd Express Entry Draw February 2020 (draw number 137) took place on 19th February. The Canadian authority has issued 4,500 ITAs (Invitation to Apply) making the draw the largest in the history of Express Entry. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off has been set at 470 points. As it is an all-program draw, candidates in any Express Entry-aligned program are eligible. The previous draw of 5th February 2020, had the cut-off threshold of 472 points.

The Largest Express Entry Draw

A hike of 1,000 ITAs in the 19th February draw from the previous of 5th February has made it the largest Express Entry Draw in its entire history. An increase in the number of ITAs is a significant factor in deciding the CRS cut-off score as more number of candidates will be selected. In such cases, often there is a decrease in the cut-off score.

Inevitably, Express Entry has become more popular, taking into account the record-high levels of ITAs issued by the Canadian Government. The record certainly goes well with the plan announced by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on 31st October 2018. According to this plan, Canada intends to admit more than a million new permanent residents over three years, starting from 2019 to 2021.

How much does the Express Entry Process cost?
